Kenya Mama Simba AB
Mama Simba AB coffee is a micro lot harvest from a smallholder farm situated at the foothills of Mt. Kenya in Embu. Known for its coffee, Embu is located in the north east of Nairobi, and has an altitude of 1,500 - 1,900 metres above sea level. The coffee is hand-picked and delivered to the washing station for pulping with the rest of processing done at The New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union (NKPCU), Sagana Coffee Milling Plant.
Mama Simba means lioness. The vibrant colours of marmalade and bergamot notes in this rare coffee find exudes a picture of a magnificent lioness waltzing through the scenic landscapes of Kenya.
We are also inspired by the hardworking Kenyan women farmers, who are also mothers of the land. They carry out about 70 per cent of the work in their homes and on the farms. Their willingness to labour tirelessly is the enabling factor in the successful soil-to-cup journey of this coffee bean.
