This beautiful Catimor (coffee variety) was produced by the Menglian Tianyu Farmers Cooperative, founded in 2010 by Ye Ping, a woman living in Manmao Village. The village is located 1,450 - 1,750 meters above sea level in Southwest China, near Myanmar’s borders. An unfortunate intense frost killed all the coffee trees in their village in 2013, but under the lead of Ye Ping, the cooperative pressed on. By 2018, Ye Ping’s coffees were winning awards in Yunnan regional competitions. Her coffee placed again in both 2019 and 2022. Today, her coffee has become so popular that orders have to be placed and reserved ahead, early in the season when cherries are still unripe.
